Hopkins Building: Marshalltown, IA
The historic building presented significant deterioration to its masonry façade. Restoration into 14 apartments and retail space while honoring the integrity of the historic building was initiated as a downtown development project.

ISSUE: Provided a field investigation to define the deterioration and recommend appropriate repair. Performed destructive analysis (removal of brick) for analysis of surfaces behind the façade. Recommendation included replacing rusted lintels, wood beams, and delaminated bricks.
