Webster City Theater: Webster City, IA
The Webster Theater was built at the turn of the 20th century. The building has operated under the name The Webster since the 1920’s and the marquee was added in 1939. Originally the theater seated 600 on the main floor and 150 patrons on the balcony. In the late 1980’s it was remodeled to its current capacity of 320 while owned and operated under Fridley Theaters. The community rallied behind the theater in 2014 to bring it back to operational after a short ownership by a cinema chain that resulted in bankruptcy. With the community support the theater reopened its doors and continues to serve the community.
